State of Art Safety Shoe Testing Laboratory in Kanpur soon.....

The city of Kanpur will soon boast of a state-of-art quality testing laboratory for safety shoes. The initiative comes on behalf of the entrepreneurs indulging in the manufacture of export quality safety shoes. The rupees 10 crores worth laboratory will be entirely funded by the Central Government, said Mr. Maqsud Alam, Regional Chairman, Council for Leather Exports-Northern Region. About 25-30 industries of Kanpur are manufacturing safety shoes worth rupees 150 crores on an annual basis for the export market. (Amar Ujala, January 01, 2008)
